Is There An Afterlife?

Some people choose to believe there is no afterlife; that what we see now, this experience in this life is all that there is. When we die, we cease to exist. The topic of the afterlife can be challenging to discuss; however, it requires some level of faith for anyone to look beyond life on earth and consider the unknown.

If you’re a person of faith, you might take your cues about the afterlife from the writings in the Bible. While a tiny percentage of Biblical text is devoted to explaining what comes next, there are a couple of things that are crystal clear and worth noting. When we die, our spirit continues according to the Bible. We are still who we are, yet without the physical body that we live in today. Once leaving this life, either we will move into a reunion with God spending eternity in His presence, or we will be separated from God and all the goodness that He gives. The second thing to note is that the determining factor for which route we go after this life is rooted in our current relationship with Jesus Christ. Those who have placed their trust in Jesus and choose to follow Him will spend eternity with God. Those who do not choose Jesus as their redeemer and savior will not spend eternity with God.
